1. Which types of films are eligible for consideration?
In order for your feature film or short film to be eligible for consideration, you must own the copyright of the film and possess all clearances. This includes film score, music and 3rd party trademarks, etc. You must also not be in an agreement which prohibits you from granting non-exclusive commercial duplication rights for home video. If you are under 18 years of age and your film is chosen to be included in our programming, a parent or legal guardian will be required to sign the distribution agreement.

2. How are films judged?
Films are judged by a committee of film producers, film festival directors, filmmakers, studio executives, and screenwriters. Films are judged based on uniqueness, structure, story, writing, direction, photography, lighting, audio and editing.

3. Does it cost anything to submit a film?
Submitting a feature films, short films or documentary films to us does not cost anything. To submit your film free of charge, please visit the submissions page. Submitting a film does not guarantee that the film will be included in our programming.

4. What are the benefits of having my film be a part of the AmazeFilms programming?
Inclusion in the AmazeFilms programming is an excellent opportunity for up-and-coming filmmakers to exhibit their work to an audience of several hundred thousand viewers.

5. Will I be compensated if my film is chosen to be a part of the AmazeFilms programming?
Agreements are made on an individual basis.

6. What rights must be cleared in order for me to submit my film for consideration?
Typically, filmmakers must own or have all the rights cleared of their film (including music) to be eligible for consideration. The staff of AmazeFilms can, however, enter into an agreement with organizations or academic institutions that own the rights of a particular film. If your film is owned by an academic institution or organization, please specify in the submission form.

7. If I have not cleared the rights, including music, how can I go about doing so?
You must own or have all rights for your feature film or short film cleared including music. If you would like to find who owns the rights to a particular song, please visit http://www.bmi.com or http://ascap.com. There are also several companies that can assist you with music clearance. To find such companies, conduct a web search for “music clearance.” A more realistic route is to use royalty-free music or purchase stock music. To find such options, conduct a web search for "royalty-free music" or "stock music." Alternatively, you can also hire a music composer to score original music.

8. Are there any other restrictions?
Films which contain elements that are not cleared for commercial distribution cannot be included in the AmazeFilms programming. If you would like to submit your film for consideration, please replace or delete uncleared music or footage. Please refer to the Clearance Guidelines document for further information on rights clearance.

9. Which formats does AmazeFilms accept for submissions?
For inclusion consideration, we only accept VHS (NTSC/PAL), DVD, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW or digital (QuickTime, AVI) formats.

10. Which format will AmazeFilms require if my film is chosen?
Films that will be included in the AmazeFilms programming must be sent in uncompressed Quicktime or AVI format, Mini DV, DVD, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW or DV CAM format. As film trailers are also requested for films, they can be sent in any of these formats.

11. What type of rights will I be required to grant if my film is chosen for the AmazeFilms programming?
The rights that we would require are non-exclusive commercial distribution rights for home video (DVD, VHS & CD-ROM). The term would be 5 years and the territory would be either North America or worldwide.

12. Will I be able to enter into other distribution agreements if I grant rights for the AmazeFilms programming?
Submission of your film is not binding whatsoever. As the rights that we require are non-exclusive, you would be able to enter into other agreements with other distributors.

13. What is the demographic of the AmazeFilms audience?
The demographic of our audience includes film fans, film critics, film producers, filmmakers, studio executives, journalists, film professionals, actors, film directors, screenwriters, etc.
